The Auburn 852 is 2/12 in the 1996 Treasure Hunt series, car 15083, and collector number 437.
It is black and metalflake gold enhanced by a Hot Wheels logo inside a white rectangle behind the cockpit.
Features include a clear windshield, a dark gold interior, and an unpainted metal Malaysia base. The Real Rider wheels have gold Deep Dish rims and white line tires.
The Auburn 852 made its Hot Wheels debut in the 1979 Oldies But Goodies series. It is based on the Auburn Speedster, a luxury sports car produced by the Auburn Automobile Company from the late 1920s to the early 1930s.
1996 includes 12 vehicles with each limited to 25,000 produced. They can be identified by a horizontal green stripe with “TREA$URE HUNT SERIES” on the package.
